DMD2 2.99920 I am not sure if this is a “bug” or a “design feature”. . . . If I select a destination point on the map, and use the DMD2 in-built navigation function, it will plot a “public road” route and provide “turn by turn” direction. However, If I deviate off this plotted route for some reason (e.g. road works / crash / traffic, etc) DMD2 continues to update and show my exact position on the map, but does not re-calculate a route to my destination, or even show how I get from my current position back to my original route. << snip >>
DMD2 2.99921 Route re-calculation now seems to work, but for street / suburb / town use it seems to be very slow and clunky. It will get me from town A to town B, but it is not the best tool for in-town navigation.

As a “work around”, I can “Finish” option and close the original route, and then manually create a new route from my current position to my original destination, but this is rather difficult at 100 kph.
Shouldn’t DMD2 automatically do this “re-calculation” for me ?
Is there a menu option / method to force DMD2 Navigation to re-calculate a route when my current position is some distance off the original planned route ??
4 June 2023 at 10:48 pm #2186MurphyauParticipantSince at least 2.99917 when you finish the active navigation, the blue route disappears but the Route Info box on the left as well as the options button stay. This was different in the version before.
Agreed. I also have this problem on 2.99919
4 June 2023 at 10:45 pm #2185MurphyauParticipantBeta 2.99919. Is there a method of entering a street address and/or lat-long co-ords directly into the DMD2 map screen ??
I can manual move & zoom the map with my fingers to find the location, and then select “Navigate”, but there does not seem to be a method of just typing the information into the map ??
11 May 2023 at 10:35 am #1801MurphyauParticipantI have OBD2 working and most of the information is correct (rpm, voltage, coolant temp ) but Fuel shows 6% when the fuel tank is 94% full (18L actual fuel / 19L total fuel tank capacity).
I know that I can override the ECU reading using “average” fuel usage, but I would prefer “real” numbers. I mean, traveling for 200 km into a headwind will give you significantly different fuel range than if you travel 200km with a tail wind.
Is there a menu option to “flip” the Fuel display so that the ECU value of 6% shows up as 94% on DMD2 ??
10 May 2023 at 7:35 am #1784MurphyauParticipantSame problem here. DMD2 (2.99904) worked fine when I was setting up my OBD2 dongle connection this afternoon. Now, some 3 hours later, it crashed within 10 seconds of opening.
11 April 2023 at 11:50 pm #1525MurphyauParticipantIf I select Navigation Mode, I am asked if I want to use DMD2 or an External App, and if I select External App, Google Maps is automatically loaded. Is there a menu item or process where I can set which External App I want to use (instead of Google Maps) ?? For the record, I have DMD2 2.995 on a Galaxy Tab A SM-T510 running Andriod 11.
Thats actually not related to DMD2, thats just how Android works, a dialog will show if you have multiple navigation apps installed AND you dont have one set by default, if you indeed have multiple apps and you want the dialog to show again just clear the app defaults in the Android settings > Applications.
I am not sure if it is a Google thing or a Samsung thing, but on my Samsung J16 phone (Android 5.1.1) there is an option for setting the default app for Navigation, but on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 510 (Android 11) and my Samsung A30 phone (Android 12) there is no longer any menu option to set the default navigation app.
I have 3 navigation apps installed ( G/Maps, G/Waze and iGo ). All 3 have permission to access “Location” and all 3 are not set as a “default app”, yet DMD2 sees Maps & Waze (both Google apps), but does not see iGo.
This is not a “show stopper” for me as the current DMD2 “in-built” navigation is adequate to get me from Town A to Town B, 150 kms down the highway, and I can switch to a more dedicated navigation app for in-city travel, if needs be.
