ParticipantT865X : “Gloves Mode”
I’m having trouble to use the tablet when I’m wearing gloves (Summer gloves / wintergloves / gloves with or without a rubber fingertip.. it doesn’t matter).
The screen only reacts on my bare, gloveless fingers….
(On my older TomTom Rider 550, there was a setting to adapt the sensitivity of the touchscreen (thick or thin glove) which worked quite fine) .
On the website https://www.thorkracing.com/produto/dmd-t865-motorcycle-gps-navigation-tablet/
the following is mentioned:
Many motorcycle quality of life features like auto turn-on, configurable auto turn-off, ignition detection, gloves mode and three extra configurable DMD2 function hardware button.
In the device settings however, I’m not able to find a configurationoption where this “Gloves Mode” is mentioned…
The Pre-installed off factory screenprotector hasn’t been replaced by a aftermarket one…
Does anyone here recognizes this problem? (Or do I have to search for a 6th pair of gloves?
).

KeymasterHello
Gloves mode on our screen types is just a bad idea, it makes it too sensitive and causes ghost touches, that is why the option was removed.
Almost all gloves now have the touch-compatible finger index, at least for the last 6 or 7 years.
Have you checked the globes specs for this?DMD2 Project Manager & Lead Developer

ParticipantGood morning João,
like I mentioned, on my TomTom Rider 550, there was (almost) never a problem regarding the touchscreen. With every glove, with/without touchscreen fingerprint, it worked just fine. Ghosting however was sometimes there, during heavy rain/snow….
I just emailed my motorgear supplier
https://www.damenmotorkleding.nl/en/professional/
where I buy all my stuff, and asked them if they have a solution…
Thanks for your reply
