Some question on the devices the thorkracing and a android rugged tablet.

Hello everyone

I hope you all are having a great day. Where I live last week the cyclone Alfred passed our Home within 10kms

Luckily we had no Damage but today and Yesterday have been sun shining and clear skies, Unbelievable to think that  a week ago we had the cyclone

 

Now getting to the technical stuff.

I have been looking at options which way I can run the app on the bike.

I have been looking at Rugged Tablets and Phones. the question I have is more to do with the DMD-T665.

Here in the state of QLD they have pretty tough fines on using or  just touching your phone and the fine starts at

$1209.00 dollars. You can use Dedicated navigation devices. Can you remove the phone function from the

DMD-T665 . Sorry I use apple so not sure what options are available for android.

I would think if there is no sim card in the device or mobile service to the device then it is not a phone? However that maybe needs to be argued in a court? Are the police that tight?
