SD-Card extern for Kurviger etc.

Hello.
I am quite new to this. I have a T865. I have read a lot about problems with using SD cards.
If I use them as external memory and only save e.g. the maps from Kurviger, BR Router etc. on the card, there are also problems. So nothing from DMD2 to the SD card.
Joao has already mentioned a few times that problems can occur when using it as internal memory.
Can anyone give me more information? Thanks a lot

Hello

There are two ways of using an SD Card:

– Formatted as extended internal memory – dangerous as it can easily damage your OS
– Formatted as removable external storage – safer but not all apps can use it

Im not sure if the apps you mention can use the SD Card as removable storage, since Google changed the way apps can access it. If those apps did not yet implemented the new external storage access API then you will not be able to use the SD Card for them.

DMD2 app on the T865 can write to SD Card when you format it to external storage, that is a safe option that should work.
