Request: BMW GS

The cradle is mounted on GPS support and the L shape 2nd GPS support is used as windshield / frontal protection with a 5 mm  plexiglass

How well is going to work and protect the tablet , just the time will tell, but at least is on the bike and has some protection.

I just came across this DMD2 Navigation unit and I like what I’m seeing.

I’ll be installing this on my 2020 R1250 GS and I’m wondering if the package contains all mounting hardware for the bike and, will I also need to buy the software to use the GPS?

Forgive me for such a simple question, but where did you route the power supply to? Did it have to go all the way to the battery or is there a terminal closer to the unit?

Hello , I used the BMW GPS connector. Under the fairing on the right side there is a 3pin connector which is used to power the factory GPS cradle. In this connector there is a switched power . After power off the bike you still have power for 20 sec and after is  off. Like this the Tablet will switch automatically on, when bike start and shutdown 20 second after the bike is stopped.

Thank you for the quick response. That sounds like the ideal way to wire it. Did you have to get any special connectors to do that? From what I’ve seen the wiring harness just has bare ends.

Same for me. I used the original BMW CAN BUS connector 83300413585. I believe Touratech makes it as well under 01-065-0293-0, which is better sealed as well.
