One question: the DMD 12mm AMPS bracket SHORT SE – was not long enough or what was the criteria to choose the DMD 12mm AMPS Bracket Long SE for your install ?

Hi Albert,
The decision to select the DMD 12mm AMPS Bracket Long SE was easy. I asked ThorkRacing directly and their recommendation was the long bracket.

Once mounted, what I can tell you is that the short one will probably not fit you well for two reasons.

First, the tablet will be closer to the 12mm bracket and will touch the windshield. It will force you to put it more vertically, which will penalize you when you ride standing up.
Second, and as a consequence of having the tablet closer to the bracket and in a more vertical position, it will prevent you from having a complete view of the BMW display.

As you can see in the photo, with the DMD 12mm AMPS Bracket Long SE, you can get the tablet tilted enough so that it can be seen well both when riding standing up and sitting down and so that the tablet does not hit the windshield.

Also keep one thing in mind: “the movement of the handlebars.”
An extreme turn of the handlebars can hit the tablet if you use the short one.
