Does the Remote 2 need to be connected to the bikes 12v system for it to work when connected to the 865X tablet?

With the tablet powered up and the switch connected to the back of the tablet, I was going to try playing with it off the bike to learn how to use it and program the button functions, but it seems like it won’t run solely off the tablets battery.

The LED light above the upper button is also not lit, which I’m guessing it should be if the Remote is receiving power.

    Thanks for any info.

if the T865-X is connected in the delivered mounting – and this is connected via cable harness with battery of bike. Then you can connect the Remote2 on a free connector of the cable harness. Ther is no need to connect the Remote2 itself to power.

On the T865-X there is an App to check buttons of the device as well as of connected remote controllers. This App can manage it, no matter if Remote2 is connected via Bluetooth or via cable.

There is no need to connect Remote2 via Bluetooth to T865-X  – it’s good enough to connect via cable harness.
If LED on Remote2 is red, controller will work via cable connection to T865-X. If LED is blue, controller will work via Bluetooth connection to T865-X.

    Thanks.
I was hoping to play with it and get it set up while sitting in my recliner, off just tablet battery power. Oh well.

Hi, I am going through the settings of the remote 1 in the road book mode.
does any one know what the Repeat Speed for paper keys is?

I’m using Remote-2 Controller, but my setting for repeat speed works acceptable with 250ms.

And picture ratio by click is 26.38411.

In the end, you need to play around and find the best setting, which fits for you. And to the Roadbook, you will receive from event. Not all Roadbooks are prepared by same software or by same style.
