ParticipantHi together,
some days before i get a update and it has change the gpx management significant. I like it. Good job!
I was just play around with a work around for my purposes, asked also by a bit cryptic thread here.
Today i imported some 3rd party tracks/routes/poi for the next event to guide. Now i can organise the files in order. Thats fine, but a option for folders would helpful to.
In every imported file i have Tracks and Routes and can now manage different visibilitys. For Routes i can change the calculation preset, for ex. road fun+no motoway.
Thats absolutly fine and shows the in right direction for me.
And now the question:
If i want to create a (day-)trip with different sections, should i use <trkseg> .. </trkseg> and/or <rteseg> .. </rteseg> in my gpx file to create some controllable parts?

Participanthmmm – not sure, but why you don’t try it simply? I have observed: have got one gpx-file from an event, which contains several tracks:
<trk> <trkseg> </trkseg> </trk>
In result, after import this gpx-file in DMD2 App, for each track, I have got a line item in GPX Manager. By this I was able to select only on item (of the day), or all. And I can determine specific colors for each.
I believe it would be the same for routes.

ParticipantThe answer is simple. My yearly Tour with nearly 20 days and round about 5 different sections per day are then 100 Tracks or 20 Tracks with 5 sections or 1 Track with 100 sections.
Not telling about 5-10 Poi per day.
And all the other Weekendtrips you have to calculate extra.

Participanttry it, to edit manually the gpx-file via text editor.
I believe, the app isn’t dealing with sections. I know, in gpx-file, you can see the separations inside a track into segments <trkseg>. But all of my received files covers only 1 segment per track. And in DMD2 App, I haven’t found possibility to setup segments (line color etc.).
Usually, for my long distance trips, I create 1 Route per day. And very often, I got inspiration during the day, to not following 100% the planned route, to see interesting things…

DMD2 deals with:
multiple WAYPOINTS
multiple TRACKS <trk> -> notice that segments are merged so if you use multiple <trkseg> they will be merged and displayed on the track
multiple ROUTES <rte>If you want a good GPX builder / editor that respects the ability to generate files with multiple tracks and routes ask for access to the new ADVHUB trip builder in our discord channed:
