A Couple of Newbie Questions

I am trying to replace a Garmin Zumo XT with DMD2, but I am having trouble duplicating a couple of the most used features of the Zumo on DMD2.

If I have an active navigation (route not a predesigned track) how do I add another waypoint to the route?

How do I search along the active navigation for a POI? I know how to have DMD2 display upcoming POIs for a GPX file but I cannot figure out how to do it for an active navigation route.

Is there a way to have DMD2 display the total time, miles, and route overview when starting a new route?
